Jaguar Xk8 Roof Not Latched

Now the roof will neither open or close so i have locked the roof down manually.

Could the pump be faulty. I have a 03 xk8 convertible and when i put the roof up down it started leaking oil thru the latch on the top by the answered by a verified jaguar mechanic. Pull the roof up to the latch then close the latch with the allen wrench. Roof itself detached from the body but then stopped.

I have a 1999 jaguar xk8 and recently was closing the convertible top when it didn t finish latching but only partially latched. Several years ago i had a hydraulic hose fail that operates my roof on my 1999 xk8. At that time i could find little to no information related to the hose latch or how to replace the equipment. The attached illustration of the ram linkage shows how to unlock them.

Once the roof is up and latched you will need to lock the rams for the rear quarter windows to close. If the roof top operation is poor sluggish it needs the roof top hydraulic system flushing and new pentosyl fluid using in the system the old type origional fluid can turn to a jelly like substance. Pull that plug and insert the allen wrench and rotate to unlatch open the roof latch. My jaguar xk8 convertible roof failed to close just short of the latch.

The hood latch not bonnet latch hoses burst i replaced them. I have a 2000 xkr jaguar. Jaguar xk8 i had a fluid leak from the latch area of my hood when i attempted to open it. Latch i realise i need a new hydraulic hose two problems.

The pump is running when i try to operate the roof but the roof doesn t move.
