Inventor Sheet Metal Bend Relief

In the inventor sheetmetal environment users take advantage of the unfold functionality for creating flat patterns of a wide variety of materials.

Add a double bend to a sheet metal face. Select a model edge on each sheet metal face. Click the down arrow to select measure show dimensions or list parameters to enter a different value. Enter a bend radius if it is different from the default for the part.

Inventor sheetmetal remove flange bend relief. Override sheet metal style settings for corner shape and relief. On the ribbon click sheet metal tab create panel bend. Here you can adjust the relief shape bend transition and relief dimensions.

You can specify the corner relief shape for a 2 or 3 bend corner. The corner tab lets you override default parameters in the sheet metal styles dialog box. Although not necessarily the norm i do get asked from time to time about removing the bend relief cut away from a flange. The coolest part about this bend option inside of the face command is that it eliminates the need to create a separate bend feature between 2 existing faces.
