Install Gutter Joints

Pvc or vinyl gutters are designed to snap together easily but may require the use of gaskets or a sealant to ensure a waterproof connection.

Install gutter joints.

Step 1 place the top lip of the slip joint s back over the top of the rear edge of the two gutter pieces. We riveted the top front flange and used lap seal caulk on the rest of the joint. Caps come in left and right profiles and can be mechanically fastened with screws or rivets or simply glued in place with gutter lap sealer. If the opposite end of this gutter terminates install an end cap.

Next install a downspout outlet fitting in the gutter. Joining gutter sections together is a fairly simple job. Diy gutter replacement can save you. But with just a little more work you can use these same parts to put together rain gutters and downspouts that are stronger and better looking too.
