As i mentioned earlier wall panels are a great way to conceal uneven or unattractive surfaces.
With this method of installing mdf panels the base should be perfectly flat.
If your wall is very uneven your builder may need to install wooden battens to the area.
The first step in how to install paneling is to remove all wall plates outlets and any nails in the wall.
After that mdf panels should be cut with a jigsaw or hacksaw into pieces of the desired size.
Depending on the method of fixing an additional substrate layer of plywood or mdf can be fixed to the battens to provide a smooth flat surface to work with.
Walls can be coated with a deep penetration primer to make the substrate more reliable and to obtain additional adhesion.
Maintain a gap of 1 16 inch between each board for expansion.
