Using a philips head screwdriver turn counterclockwise to unscrew a knob with standard hex head screws. Check for exposed screws on the inside of the door. Insert the tip of the wrench into the screw and rotate the tool counter clockwise until the faceplate is free to slide off. This works for your cookware too.

If you don t need the door to lock choose a passage doorknob. Wifi locks or keypad locks. For rooms you want to lock choose a privacy knob which has a locking mechanism inside it. Once triggered the lever or lock trim can be removed from the door.

Pull the rose cover off the knob body. While holding the knob or handle with one hand use a screwdriver to tighten the fastening screw. Create a paste from equal parts of flour vinegar and salt. Occasionally the door handle may instead use a different screw type such as a phillip s head screw.

Some styles of door knob will have another thin slot that requires a small screwdriver to free the cover from the door.
